The Ukrainian Catholic Church (UCC) in the UK is a registered charity with the Charity Commission in England and Wales, under charity number 240088. The Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London was first registered on the 9th July 1965 when it was still an Apostolic Exarchate for Ukrainian Catholics of the Byzantine rite. The stated aim of our charity is 'the advancement of religion at the discretion of the bishop and his successors in title or the head of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Great Britain."
Originally, the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family of London was erected as an Apostolic Exarchate on the 10th June 1957 for the faithful of the UCC in England and Wales, but on the 12th May 1968, the Exarchate’s remit was expanded to the whole of Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland). The UCC was elevated to eparchial status (equivalent to diocesan status in the Latin Church) on the 18th January 2013. The faithful in the Eparchy number approximately 13,500.
